The New North East Branch Library

We’re so excited to share the design of the new North East Branch Library with you! Thank you to all who attended meetings at the North East Branch Library and North East Town Hall to see the designs and meet the architects. It was just one year ago our community gathered to share ideas for the new library. Groundbreaking is planned for spring 2019 and we plan to open in late 2020.

Thank you to our elected officials, Town of North East Mayor and Administrators, and to our community for your enthusiastic support of the new North East Branch Library.

Making Room for Elkton

By constructing one new library in North East, Cecil County’s two largest communities will benefit from improved access to life-changing library services for generations.

When the new North East Branch Library opens, CCPL will move its administrative headquarters and operations support from the Elkton Central Library. This move will free up more than 4,000 square feet of space at the Elkton Central Library that can be converted to much-needed public space.
